Here's an interesting story from today's Daily Cal: expired condoms at the Tang Center. I predict the headlines from June 2003: "Baby Boom Among Berkeley Students". Oh well... I know of at least one place where you can find condoms without a problem, though: Aquatic Park.
Our ASUC senators, always protecting the interests of the students who elected them, preach another form of safe sex:
"If you and (Student Action) Senator (Cliff) Costa try and fuck me over on this one, I am going to shove this Snapple bottle so far up your ass it will come out of your nose," Fong said to LaFata.
Remember, now, to make sure you use plenty of lube when shoving Snapple bottles up eachothers asses, kiddies. That's an actual quote from Wednesday night's meeting. And who said politics is boring?

Here's the Daily Cal story on yesterday's Free Hernandez rally. Is it me, or does Roberto look just a little Hitleresque in the picture there? I mean, brown shirt, red patch on the right arm, low angle on the photo... no offense to Roberto, and I'm certainly not implying he's a fascist... it's just a funny picture. I didn't notice this until I saw it in color- it looks fine in print. Ahem.
This is my favorite Sex on Tuesday column ever. Teresa Chin, call me. We'll have dinner. I'll pay for it. I'll tell you your eyes sparkle when you laugh and then we'll share a brief but passionate bout of lovemaking, which if anything, should provide sufficient material for future SoT columns ("What To Do When He's Wider Than He Is Long").
Good lord... I can't believe this could happen. A mob of children beat a grown man to death in Wisconsin. Apparently they threw an egg at him, so the guy chased one of them and punched a kid (a fourteen year old). The mob then proceeded to beat the 36-yr old man to death with "rakes, shovels, and baseball bats". Children as young as 10 were involved with the beating. Bill O'Reilly was on his soapbox today saying that the parents should be held accountable, and I have to agree. We live in a violent, scary society, but is there truly any deterrant that would be effective? You can't throw these kids in jail, and while instances like this are thankfully rare, it seems like there's almost nothing that can be done. There was this mob beating from a few months ago... how does justice work in cases like this? Can there be any justice in a case like this?
Here's a photo of Bush looking confused. Here's a story about Bush being unhappy he doesn't get to blow up Saddam. See the stupid, powerful man. See him run. Run, Bush, run.

You might have seen the business on Sproul today, as from noon to 1 there was a rally of solidarity for those facing suspension for the April 9 Wheeler seizure. My personal belief is that if D.A. John Adams was willing to drop all the criminal charges against the students, the University should be willing to do the same. The final decision, though, rests in the hands of a council of five, representing the staff, faculty, undergraduates, and graduate departments. There's significant evidence, especially videotape, that should show exactly what happened, but it's really a matter of how harsh the punishment will be for violating Berdahl's decree.
