Hahahaha!

PANAMA CITY (Reuters) - A 28-year-old Panamanian accused of killing a judge was eaten by a crocodile as he swam across a river after escaping from prison, police said on Thursday.

If you haven't been jittery enough the last few days, between fears of Palestinian suicide bombers blowing up civilians and the possiblity of dirty bombs in the U.S., here's another news tidbit to have you reaching for your blood pressure medication: A big ol' asteroid came "within a whisker" of hitting the Earth just a few days ago. Although in astronomic terms, "whisker" breadth equals 75,000 miles from the surface of the Earth, but apparently that's still too close for comfort.

Imagine, though- for all the tension and worry in our society today about terrorism, bombings, crime, pollution, etc- there still remains a possiblity, no matter how remote, that it'll all end with us getting hit by a big rock from space.

Don't let anyone ever tell you God doesn't have a twisted sense of humor.

Kudos to the people who found my blog with the following Google search strings:

"gay berekely blog"
"rachel klein nude"
"abercrombie nude fitch pictures"
"ashcroft watch"
"free photo brothers fucks my"
"porn"

The Albatross Perch is proud to be placed alongside such great websites as AdultVideoNews.com and RoeVBush.com. My hope is that people will come to this website seeking naked pictures of the Sex on Tuesday columnist, but will leave instead with a great deal of insight into Berkeley news and current events.

Yeah, right.

Correction: I've been informed that Brittany Adams was not fired from her position at the Daily Cal. Instead, she stepped down. "The Albatross Perch regrets the error."

How much longer can this go on?

The latest Jerusalem bombing has left 20 people dead, and Hamas couldn't be happier. Twenty people, mostly high school students. This is not revolution, this is not a protest, this is straight out murder. This is not even "a fight against Israeli occupation", because the targets are civilians. As a Jewish American, I'm frustrated at the importence of every attempted peace process. At this point, it's out of control. Hamas and Arafat will continue to support suicide bombings and the murder of innocent civilians.

Imagine having to wonder if every time you send your kid to school, or every time you're driving down the freeway, there's a another car on the freeway driven by a grinning terrorist with a trunkfull of explosives. This isn't a war, it's a systematic attack. It's a miniature September 11th every other week for Israel. It's unreal and terrible.

What am I trying to say? That it's ok for the Israeli army to be so aggressive in pushing Palestinians out of Israel? One thing is for sure, though... I'm much more supportive of aggressive military action than the constant murder of random civilians. Those who support these actions are evil, terrible monsters, and with them around there can be no peace.

SCOOP: Steve Sexton fired as Fall Development Editor of the Daily Cal! This, plus Brittany's recent dismissal, suggests some sort of huge Daily Cal upset. More info as I find it. As always, send your comments to Apodo@uclink.berkeley.edu.

Although I don't consider myself much of a sports fan in the traditional sense, I have been wildly impressed with this year's World Cup. My fraternity house also has a large number of Irish boarders, so they're very much into the spirit of things and it's starting to catch on. This morning I watched the extremely close Spain-Ireland match, which was a bitter defeat for the Irish (much to the chagrin of our boarders). While a sport that only has two goals scored per 90 minutes of play time doesn't sound like it could hold your interest, I've learned that there's a lot more to soccer than ripping off shirts and screaming "gooooooaaaal!". On that note, check out Joel Stein's Time magazine article on America's absolute lack of interest in the World Cup.

In other sports news, this gives a whole new meaning to the term "hole in one".
